Farm Manager
Moree, Northern New South Wales

Our client is a highly progressive company operating a large-scale irrigation farming enterprise. The Manager will be based on all three of their aggregations that are all joined and situated in North Western New South Wales. This property is West of Moree consisting of 2,800 hectares farming Cotton, Chickpea, Faber Beans, Barley, Wheat and depending on the season, Sorghum.

Duties and Responsibilities of this position include:

- In conjunction with the Owner, organise staff, machinery on a daily basis.
- Undertake all aspects of the day-to-day operation, servicing and repair of
all machinery to a high standard.
- In consultation with the Owner, manage all facets of the preparation, planting and harvesting of crops
- Assist in the management of irrigation.
- Ensure quality management at all levels by instilling a highly effective and proficient work ethic of yourself and the lower level staff
- Liaise and report fully with management and fellow staff members to obtain maximum performance.
- Comply with all OH&S protocols.
- Weed control and eradication and
- Maintain accurate farming records.

Applicants should demonstrate that they possess the following:

- Have at least 5 years experience and knowledge of all aspects of irrigated farming.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, minimum till and GPS-assisted farming practices
- Experience in operating and maintaining a variety of farming machinery including tractors, headers and spraying equipment
- Excellent mechanical knowledge
- Have a current drivers licence, a HC licence would be looked upon favourably.
- First aid certificate, and
- Chemical accreditation

As part of the package, fuel for work vehicle, vehicle (some personal use allowed), electricity and phone will be supplied. There is school bus access 5 minutes from the Manager's residence. Primary and Secondary schooling is available 20km away in Moree.
